11 hours of non-stop sparrowing netted us 11 species.....We visited all the favorite sparrow spots in the county.
The day totals as follows
We were thrilled to find one increasingly rare VESPER SPARROW
Two late GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS were a welcome surprise
LINCOLN’S were in evidence with 11 adorable individuals.
SAVANNAH’S were abundant with 249!
WHITE-CROWNS were elegant.... 9 lovely birds.
WHITE-THROATS have arrived back with 42 for the day.
FIELD SPARROWS were ever sweet with 33.
Little CHIPPING SPARROWS were a mix of plumages....69.
209 SWAMP SPARROWS were glorious even in the overcast
SONG SPARROWS were as cheerful as ever...232 some singing.
and a single JUNCO gave us our 11!

Other birds we did manage to divert attention to were AMERICAN BITTERN, MARSH WREN, WINTER WREN, 2 BOBOLINKS, male NORTHERN HARRIER....2 RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS
