On the maintenance road across from the Vis. Center/activity area, I saw a bird and thought, "Wow, that is a hell of a bright white-crowned. Then got binos on it and saw the gold etc. marks of a white-throated sparrow--except one big difference from the norm: it had a big blazing full white cap, not unlike a wilson's but bigger and toward the front of the head. It kind of wrapped around the back of the eyes and joined the white throat, giving a hooded affect. Very stunning bird.
Lots of general activity if not a lot of variety. 14 hermit thrush. 2-3 blue-headed. Tim Houghton (Glen Arm)
