Glad you enjoyed birding at Jug Bay Chris! I have some additional notes to add, from the PG side of Jug Bay rather than Anne Arundel. I came home early from a vacation in Cape May NJ due to the storm, and glad to be in MD for such a great day. Woke up to a beautiful crisp fall morning as the Patuxent was in its glory surrounded with autumn colors. It was bustling with bird activity and obvious that bird #s and composition changed dramatically since I left. I am curious how much of it was a result of the storm?

FOS/other Highlights:

Ruddy Duck the only species of diver I've seen this fall here, so far.
Horned Grebe 1 Seen from my yard; presumably the same bird Chris reported. It was working the shoreline (foraging) on both AA and PG sides, between the mouth of Western Branch and the old RR crosssing.
10 Sparrow sp. 8 observed at our house (E. Towhee; Chipping, Savannah, Song, Swamp, White-throated, White-crowned, and D-e Junco), plus I added 2 at Mt Calvert (Field, Grasshopper). The WCSP was a hatch year bird feeding at our feeders (present most of day); very unusual species at our feeders). Best sparrow was the Grasshopper, seen with Fred Shafer at Mt Calvert. Excellent extended view in his scope! Niec #s of chippies and juncos, which I looked at each one but found nothing else unusual.
Eastern Meadowlark 2 individuals (not together) at Mt Calvert

Other notes - a Gray Catbird feeding on black oil sunflowers at feeders! VERY odd. I've never seen a catbird at our feeders. Bird was only present for about 15 minutes and then departed. Perhaps it was fatigued by storm and needed easy food?

The Indigo Buntings that had been regular at our feeders all season have finally departed. Last seen last week. :(

Good birding-
