Birded the private property of the University farm this morning. Was happy to find a NELSON’S sparrow for the out of county visitors. The first FOX sparrow of the season. A MARSH WREN and RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were nice. We also spotted this mysterious mound in the marshy swale...It was large and appeared in the last week. Not sure what creature might have made it...beaver? muskrat?
