Tonight I got the first RING-NECKED DUCKS of the fall - a male and two
girlfriends. Every guy's fantasy. Also found another pair of WOODIES lurking
along the north end of the lake.

Other than some JUNCOS, the only other highlight was the PILEATION I heard
from a PILEATOR that I couldn't see on the other side of the lake. I think
anything with the nerve to PILEATE ought to show him/herself. PILEATION has
something to do with woodpeckers but I forget what it is. Some kinda
connection there.
