For the record, I wasn't editorializing about the kite flier's rights to also be enjoying the park. It was perfect kite flying weather.

I was merely passing on a possible reason for the bird's departure.

Who doesn't enjoy a good kite flight?

Best,
Dan Haas

I had to feel a little sorry for the spider as he was being shaken around by the wren, which flew off before consuming its prey :(

Thru the winter months for some unknown reason this has had a strange fascination for the sparrow type birds incl Cardinals and white crowned and song sparrows. I don't have a clue what is attracting them, but they seem to be having a good time investigating this unnatural thicket.
