Jay Sheppard and I were at Oxbow Lake at different times today, but both witnessed 100's/1000's of Common Grackles. eBird lists are below.

Saturday just after sunset, Winger West and I were at Pickering Creek observing magnificent Jupiter rising in the eastern sky after sunset appearing in line with four its moons (left to right, these moons are Europa, Ganymede, Io, and Callisto) as seen in the picture at this url:

We also were able to see Venus in the western sky at the same time. If you need a good place to look fo birds and at the night sky, try Pickering Creek!

Oxbow doing trail maintenance and called to report his observations as a mature
Bald Eagle flew over and flushed ducks, and a heliopter flew over and flushed
Juncos. There are estimated 1000's of Common Grackle amongst the trees
surrounding the Oxbow. Earlier this morning, I witnessed wave after wave of
Common Grackle as they were flying over the lake.
