Hello all.

I visited Swan Creek for about 2 hours this morning, and ran into Kevin Graff and Diane Ford while there. I did a quick scan of both dredge cells before heading to the wetlands and beach.

Highlights:

Pied-billed Grebe: 1 western wetland
Double-crested Cormorant: 8 mostly subadults in western wetland. Worth checking on this time of year.
A. Black Duck: 3 western wetland
Gadwall: 3 western wetland
Green-winged Teal: 4 western wetland, enjoying the mild temps
Bufflehead: 20+ both cells
Turkey Vulture: 6 over beach/power plant area
Bald Eagle: 1 adult, western wetland
Red-tailed Hawk: 2 adults over western wetland
Peregrine Falcon: 1 adult, seen twice. Local bird.
Virginia Rail: 1 both seen and heard. Vocalized after clapping. Mitigated wetland.
Belted Kingfisher: 1 male, beach area
American Pipit: 6 north cell
Winter Wren: 1 mitigated wetland
Swamp Sparrow: 4 mitigated wetland
Song Sparrow: 6
While-throated Sparrow: 15+
Field Sparrow: 1 mitigated wetland
American Goldfinch: 40+ in two flocks crossing over both wetlands.
