That big crow roost at Nome Ave. and Northern Parkway is very stressful for the people who live under it.  Last winter I worked with the Baltimore City Arborist to try to find ways to help the people in that neighborhood without harming the crows.  The City doesn't want to cut down any trees.........but I'm sure you can imagine what it's like to live on that block and the pressure they put on the City to do something.  The City was very grateful for the information from the State and Federal folks who gave me contacts.   I was less grateful for the person who chewed me out on MDOsprey for being concerned and trying to educate the City officials.

There's also a big roost on 33rd St. near Union Memorial Hospital near where I live.......and one foggy night last winter (maybe by the flight for life helicopter) the flock was disturbed and the birds moved down a few blocks and roosted in the trees along my block.  There were hundreds of birds in the trees.....quite a sight to look out an upstairs window and see a hundred crows only 20 feet away.  Fortunately, they only stayed one night but the sidewalks, cars and yards under those trees were a mess in the morning.  I dug out my Great Horned Owl tape so I could play it out an upper floor window if they returned.........but fortunately they went back to 33rd.

One huge roost is at West Coldspring Station (Metro) at the corners of West
Cold Spring Lane and Wabash Avenue (39.33653, -76.67393) in Baltimore City.
The birds start pouring in an hour before sunset and are very vocal. I have
often wondered if they move quietly to another location for the night.

The crows seem to travel along Reisterstown Road, Park Heights Avenue and
the metro train tracks. This location is 7.5 miles from the Reisterstown
Road exit from 695. You can watch thousands of them from Owings Mills, Old
Court and Milford Mill Metro Stations.

Cromwell Valley Park is 14.4 miles from this roost.
