Re the theory that the mild weather has kept down numbers of finches at  
feeders.  This may well be true, but my observations this month are that I  
have never had more chickadees, titmice, downies and WB nuthatches.   They are 
swamping the feeders.  
 
So a question: has the weather affected the finches  disproportionally?  
Disproportional breeding success rather than  weather?
 
BTW, I have had no house finches at my feeders of late and only an  
occasional goldfinch.
