Hi Everyone,

There's no point being a birder if you can't generate at least a little optimism, so Mike Walsh and I were out on Pemberton Dr near Salisbury this morning (22 Nov 2011) hoping to relocate the Black-throated Gray Warbler that Sam Dyke found on Sunday. We carefully searched about a half mile of Pemberton Dr and "the corner" on Catchpenny Rd from 8:15-10:45 am. The birding was nice--we had 45 species and generated 3 eBird lists from this small area--but no sign of the Black-throated Gray.

Our highlight was an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER along Pemberton Dr--found about 2 telephone poles west of Wells Rd. Other birds that may be of interest to county listers who neglect our fair county were 1 Merlin, 6 Winter Wrens, 1 Brown Creeper, 2 Hermit Thrushes, and 2 Fox Sparrows.

Have fun,

Ron Gutberlet
