Hubby and I visited Paper Mills Flats today, I was not expecting the water to be so high. As we made our way down the trail to the first spot for easy viewing of the water we watched around 20 American Black Ducks take off and fly to the opposite shore. At the same time what looked like Green Winged Teals flew off and landed around the same spot.

In the same area we saw around 20 Canada Geese and around 5 Hooded Mergansers. I was expected to see more ducks.

After leaving Paper Mills we headed up I 83 and right pass the Mt Carmel exit we saw two eagles flying in circles above the trees.

At home, my yardbirds are my usual regulars: Goldfinch, Carolina Wren, Titmouse, Chickadees, Cardinals, lots of bluejays and juncos, redbellied woodpecker, downy woodie, Wb Nuthatch, Wt Sparrow and some big fat crows. In the woods across the driveway a noisy Pileated woodpecker and the Vultures and before dawn I heard a Barred owl.

Also, on Gunpowder Rd a larger amount than usual of Turkey and Black Vultures. The trees along the road were filled with them. Could have been as many as 100 maybe more.
