Hi all,

Jo Anna I birded a few places in Saint Mary's Saturday focusing mainly on
Point Lookout, and the St. George's Island area. Highlights included an
EARED GREBE actively foraging on the Potomac side of Point Lookout State
Park, a high count of 57 RED-THROATED LOONs also at PLSP, a COMMON
GALLINULE calling from the pond at the tip of PLSP, and a single PURPLE
SANDPIPER foraging along the rocks at the very tip of Piney Point south of
the lighthouse. There were two massive gull flocks working the bay at
dusk, but they were too far out to locate anything really interesting, if
only I had a boat....

On Sunday, I headed to Swan Harbor where I met up with Rick Borchelt, we
canvased the area for a few hours before locating the LECONTE'S SPARROW,
which only allowed very brief looks in the young phrag stand, thanks Matt!!

Good birding!
