I refound the Le Conte's Sparrow around 8:00 a.m. this morning. Winger West, Dave Brenneman and I had walked slowly from the blind down to the area of "the bush" and did not see it. I turned and started walking back toward the blind. About 1/4 the way back I spied the Le Conte's Sparrow in the cattails about 2 feet from the edge. Both Winger and Dave caught brief glimpses of it as
it first flew a little ways to the right and then again out into the young phragmites field. We did not see it again even though we walked the dyke slowly a few times.
