I don't recall the year- probably the early 90's - The late Rick Blom helped
us on the Carroll County winter count and found a field south of Taneytown
that had them. Quite a show. Rick loved "weedy-seedy fields" in winter. They
attract things like Short-ears and Harriers. I miss Rick.

The PA Short-eared Owl extravaganza was Feb 2005.
At the bottom of this message after the current
thread, I posted a 2005 message thread, with the
original location reported by the late Gary Smyle.
