Hi all,

I birded with John Hubbell, Bill Hubick, and Matt Anthony on Saturday
covering various areas in Saint Mary's County.   Before I met up with
everyone, I checked a few areas that have had SEDGE WRENs in the past and
lucked into a calling bird at the marsh crossing just south of the hunters
parking area.  At Point Lookout, we witnessed an amazing flight of
BONAPARTE'S GULLS totaling 1,317 individuals, we tallied an impressive 39
RED-THROATED LOONs mostly flying up the bay, we also heard the continuing
SORA calling from the pond at the point.  Piney Point again hosted a large
group of BROWN PELICAN's numbering 177.   Another good day out and about!

On Sunday, I birded on the Eastern Shore, I started at Blackwater NWR where
the AMERICAN WHITE PELICANs were easily seen in the same spot that Harry
posted about.  I then headed to Salisbury Landfil, where a quick look
through the few gulls yielded a single first cycle (Kumlien's) ICELAND
GULL, the best place to scan is from Naylor Mill Road as the birds commute
back and forth between the pond and landfill.  I then headed East to Ocean
City; at Bayside Development Pond, I located a single female EURASIAN
WIGEON among the many American's.  A seawatch at the inlet was highlighted
by a single adult BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE.
