The male Barrow's Goldeneye, found by Tyler Bell, is still at the same location. Easy to spot with its white crescent on face, black spur on shoulder, white spots on upper sides, flat top of head and steep forehead.

Tyler Bell just called during his part of the CBC from the Elms Environmental Education Center in southern St. Mary's County at 9 a.m. to say he was looking at a male Barrow's Goldeneye.A link with directions is below. Tyler said the bird is about 200 yards out in the Chesapeake Bay by a string of pound nets, in with a flock of Common Goldeneyes. You will need to park at the hunters' parking lot about 0.1 mile before you reach the gate for the Elms (which is closed for the season). He had digiscoped some pictures but was going to try taking some more, though he said it is an obvious bird just with scope views. Good luck!
