I stopped by the mall at 3:30 today and did not find the Black-headed at that time. There was only one gull present, and that was a Ring-billed with an obviously broken left wing. It may be that this bird was the first casualty of what many of us have observed, that cars sometimes seem to be targeting the gull flock. Very unfortunate.
