Well before we saw the bird, we were surprised that around 7:30, a woman drove
up and asked us if the bird had come by for Christmas
yet and when we replied
no, she emphatically and rather nastily yelled "good!" So apparently at least
some people there are not pleased
with a slew of birders hanging around that neighborhood...

One potential source of irritation for nearby residents would be cars idling at the site for ANY length of time.  This sound can carry for a
surprising distance and can be a point of irritation for locals.  It is cold out there, but consider not idling your car during your visit.  It's not
only going to help with the locals, but will also lessen the carbon footprint of the total viewing experience.  That's a tough call and i don't
mean to get on a soapbox about this, but it is a consideration.

ps i don't have a clue how this will format.  Win 7 Home Premium is a far cry from my beloved MAC OS :(
