Good point about idling, but sitting in your car to see this bird is not possible since there are only two lanes of traffic and no parking directly in front of the house. We were just standing on the sidewalk minding our own business. The few pedestrians that passed by were all very pleasant.

Well before we saw the bird, we were surprised that around 7:30, a woman drove

no, she emphatically and rather nastily yelled "good!" So apparently at least
some people there are not pleased
with a slew of birders hanging around that neighborhood...

One potential source of irritation for nearby residents would be cars idling at the site for ANY length of time. This sound can carry for a
surprising distance and can be a point of irritation for locals. It is cold out there, but consider not idling your car during your visit. It's not
only going to help with the locals, but will also lessen the carbon footprint of the total viewing experience. That's a tough call and i don't
mean to get on a soapbox about this, but it is a consideration.
