Chris and I headed up to the Hunt Valley Mall this morning to tick off (and
photograph) the "gimee" Black-headed Gull. We arrived at a little after
noon and found 1247 cars in the parking lot across from Bestbuy and nary a
gull. After awhile up to fifteen gulls flew in and either perched on
lights or just sailed overhead. Not once did any gull land on the tarmac and
none could be enticed by some yummy week old bread. By the time we departed
without seeing a trace of the BHG, there were 1452 cars of many species in
the lot.

We then proceeded twelve miles down into Baltimore to catch the Nutmeg
Mannikin in Robert E. Lee park. Our trusty Garmin had us go down Lake Street
and turn right on Hollins, a narrow little road. Before long we
encountered three big orange pylons blocking the road. Since we did not have a
detailed Baltimore map, that pretty much put an end to that chase.

Shoulda gone to Denton
