Steve Collins and I had the Barrow's Goldeneye this morning around 11:00 a.m, very near to (just north of) the location Tyler mentioned below . We ran into Dan Haas who was already at the spot when we arrived. It seemed to hang close to a female goldeneye most of the time and was one of the closer birds to the shore out of all the large rafts of goldeneyes, buffleheads, long-taileds, and horned grebes, and offered up great looks. Later, after splitting up from Dan, we had a yellow Palm Warbler at the intersection of Cornfield Harbor Road and Rt. 5 for one of the last birds of the day.

Earlier in the morning, we had the Orange-crowned Warbler at Chesapeake Beach at the "T" of the boardwalk, but did not hear the King Rail.

With Fred Shaffer's Iceland Gull at Depot Pond unbeknownst to us at the time, we stopped at that location on the way back (around 2:00) and saw huge flocks of gulls - Ring-billed and Herring - but no Iceland, although it is quite possible the bird was with the many gulls that did not alight on the pond while we were present.

I've noticed that on several posts, people talk about how distant the Barrow's Goldeneye was from where they were scoping. It's unclear whether people ventured north of the area basically due east of the road into the Elms Environmental Education Center. So, if you haven't gone, here's a tip. When you park at the hunter lot (please don't park in front of the Elms gate) and walk down the road beyond the gate, look for a wooden swing gate on the left just before you get within sight of the water. Take the trail north beyond the gate and when you get to a place where it says no tresspassing beyond this point, there should be a trail that takes to to the right and to the bluff where I initially saw the bird. There are a couple of benefits of this vantage point. First, it's a bit north of the stakes of the pound net. Second, you are up about 15-20 feet above the water. Also, there's a little bench there where you can put stuff to keep it off the ground since
it's surely quite wet from the recent rain.

So far, there have been reports on eBird for 12/18, 12/19 and 12/21. Donald Sweig and Peter Kaestner saw it on 12/20. Who will find it today?! Or is everyone in Denton ;)
