Hi everyone,
I had my first chance to chase the Western Kingbird today, so made a go of it. Luckily, when I arrived one of the workers was still there. He said he was leaving, but, I could park outside the plant and walk the dike. He was very nice and accomodating. After searching the northern tree line and the eastern "hedge row", I found the bird on the barb wire fence along Ennalls Road (southern edge of the facility). I watched it from 12 noon until 12:45, but, between this time I was also looking at the waterfowl and getting a count. When I looked for the bird at 12:45, it was not on the fence. It had been flying east down the fenceline, so, I walked back in that direction figuring I'd find it, but, I did not. I checked the eastern "hedge row" also, but, did not see it.
