Looking for a Peregrin Falcon in Ocean City? At least one is there and is perching at the water tower at the inlet. Jay Sheppard and I did some pre-OC CBC birding on Dec 27th. Early that morning, Jay searched around the grounds below the water tower and found remnants of the Peregrin's prey: 2 Sanderlings, 2 American Woodock, and one American Robin. Jay wrote "the woodcock would have had to have been taken while in flight....and they do not fly much during the daylight hours! So the peregrine had to be hunting at very first light or just a moment or two before total darkness....most likely the former time period." It was very windy that day and around 4:30 pm, Jay spotted the Peregrin Falcon sitting on the leeward side of the water tower.

If you are looking, two times you might consider are just before sunrise and just before/after sunset!
