Today a friend and I birded at Lake Artemisia in the crystal clear sunshine. We were very excited to see an American Kestrel flying above us.  It landed on a telephone pole  not far from the metro tracks and let us observe it for a while. ( It was very colorful.)  It flew off and landed on the top of a tree. We enjoyed watching lots of ducks on the water.
