There was another tremendous flock of gulls at Schoolhouse Pond today with the highlight being an adult Black-headed Gull and an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull. The Lesser Black-backed Gull was standing on the ice, while the Black-headed Gull was swimming on some open water. I got digiscoped photos of both birds. Total numbers included:

1,880 Ring-billed Gulls
70 Herring Gulls
1 Lesser Black-backed Gull
1 Black-headed Gull

Also present were several Wilson's Snipes preening on the rear mudflats. A 30(-ish) minute lunch is far too short a time to spend with such a great group of birds. Good birding,
