The Northern Shrike Mike Ostrowski reported on Christmas Eve is still
at Finzel Swamp (presumably the same individual). It was a bit far
away (farther to get good light) but I snapped a photo or two and
uploaded one (see link below). I parked by the ball field and walked
back because of the snow. It wasn't that deep (maybe an inch or two)
but sometimes if there is ice I can't even get out of my own driveway
so I didn't risk it. Birding was slow otherwise. Piney Reservoir is
about half frozen and I found nothing on it.
