miraculously did not flush on close approach

SURF SCOTER  1, appeared to be an immature male, near the dam
Bufflehead  10

RED-THROATED LOON  1, seen to the left from the observation point below the
nature center
Pied-billed Grebe  7
Great Blue Heron  1
Bald Eagle  1 adult
Coot  40
Ring-billed Gull  130
