Started out Sunday night when got a Great Horned Owl at Kaestner Creek, our home at the end of Plantation Road in Church Creek, MD.  Seems to be regular there.  On Monday, we had two Blue-winged Teal at the West OC pond, along with ten other common duck species.  At Skimmer Island, we found a small flock of Common Mergansers in the channel. Nothing unusual at the Inlet, eiders were south of the far jetty and 60 Purple Sandpipers kept their distance.  At Assateague, we dipped the Lark Sparrow at pump house two, but did see the flock of 40 Tree Swallows, a handfull of Gannets, and a small flock of Red-necked Grebes just east of the causeway.  Biggest surprize was on the way back when we saw an Osprey hovering right next to the Rt 50 bridge over the Nanicoke River in Vienna at sunset.  My first winter Osprey.  A beautiful day.
