I spent an hour and a half scouring Canada Goose flocks, and two trips the
Buckingham landing from 3:30 this afternoon. Not a single goose other
than Canadas. I managed to locate some flocks not real evident, like
behind the evergreens along Buckingham, but again no joy.

From the landing I saw about 40 Common Mergansers and 3 female
Red-breasted, which for me were unexpected and I'm pretty sure new to my
Kent County list.

After giving up on the Barnacle, since there was still a little light, I
went to Kibler and Roundtop (thanks, Bill, for the info) and saw the
Northern Shrike in the top of a tree just a short distance up Roundtop
from Kibler. Even bagged some photos of a shrike with a reddish breast!
Yup, the light was pretty cool.
