I've made the final update to the 2011 comp. list, which you can find on
Bill Hubick's Website, here:
http://www.billhubick.com/docs/MD_Comp_List_2011.pdf
By my count, Marylanders reported 357 species in 2011 (barely beating 356
from 2010). You'll notice this number is two lower than what's on eBird,
and one of the causes is that eBird has not adopted the same pelagic
boundaries as the MD/DCRC (which the comp list follows). For instance, if
our records committee (not espousing this, by the way) adopted a
nearest-point-of-land philosophy, Maryland would've had its first
White-tailed Tropicbird, but as it is, this record goes to Virginia.
If anyone's interested in getting the 2012 list going, let me know. It's
another great way to learn about timing and migration.

P.S. If you notice any errors, let me know. I'm sure there are some.
