A short walk around noon confirmed the continuing presence of the Red-headed Woodpecker. I've not seen the Nutmeg Manikin for over a month and assume it's now defunct or has moved on. Also,
a previously observed pair of Shovelers (but unreported-sorry) were no longer in evidence. A park ranger said a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks were still active in the area. Unseasonable temps have resulted in early blooms of Creeping Charlie (Veronica), Lesser Celandine, Whitlow-Grass and a bush honeysuckle (Lonicera fragrantissima).
