Perhaps the goose flock, and maybe the crane with them, will reappear later today or maybe tomorrow morning? I hope it comes back!

Mary Burton sent a couple of definitive photos of this bird. Nice find! Yellow Bank Road is just north of the light in Dunkirk where there's a McDonald's on the SE corner.

  Gordon was heading out this morning on Yellow Bank when he saw an unusual bird in the fields at the corner of Rt 4.  A little research and we decided that it was a Sandhill crane.  So we thought we would share our picture with some birders that might be interested.  A great way to start the day.  Mary
