We went to some lengths today to be able to scope the flock of wigeons and coots in Marshy Creek, but we did not see the EURASIAN WIGEON. This does not mean the bird is no longer present.

We then went to Pickering Creek as Joe hadn't yet seen the VIRGINIA'S WARBLER. The bird had been observed before our 2:00 arrival and continued to make sporadic appearances, always preceded by its characteristic chipping. It was relatively visible at times, hopping on branches in trees on the edges of the drive and the pond. As usual, these appearances lasted for microseconds.

I think Dan Haas was successful in getting good photos. I pointed my camera in the direction of the bird at one point and got three habitat shots. To my surprise, one of these has an identifiable warbler: http://www.flickr.com/photos/68415932@N07/6776013292/in/photostream
