Small numbers appearing here also, singing from the treetops, feeding at the feeders, and flying north during the morning. Now beginning to appear, since yesterday, at the feeders: Common Grackles.

Red-winged Blackbirds were heading north today at Fort Smallwood Park. In 3.5
ours I observed 15 flocks ranging in size from 6 to 550 individuals. The total
ount was 1515 birds.
