It was pretty cold but certainly looked like Spring early this morning at Hughes Hollow as several of us in different parties observed Tree Swallows (fewer than a dozen by my approximate count) above the 2 major impoundments. In addition to these and to the birds already reported by Jan Braumuller, we also observed:

Wood Ducks (20?)
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (1)
Pileated Woodpecker (1)
Hairy Woodpecker (1)
Red-bellied & Downy Woodpeckers (many)
White-throated sparrows (~50 all together)
Song sparrows (~12)
Swamp sparrow (1)
Red-winged Blackbirds (many)
+ the usual suspects.

There were ducks in the back of the large impoundment but I did not have my scope.

Happy birding to all,

Evelyn
