It's all in the wrist!
So my puzzlement is how they are able to do this scratching behavior without
alling on their face?

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Fox sp - how do they do that?
Like some others who have posted recently, i've just this past week noticed Fox
p at the feeder as ground feeders. First sighting was of a single. Friday, i
hought i glimpsed 2 and confirmed that both yesterday and today.
o my puzzlement is how they are able to do this scratching behavior without
alling on their face? White Throats & Song sp and even Towhees also can
ccomplish this - nothing in Sibley or Robbins (Golden Guide...) about the
echanics/physics of this behavior.
