I went out Saturday morning and this morning to confirm my sighting of an Am Tree Sparrow at Kingman Island Park, DC. 

On Saturday I was able to find what I believe was Friday’s bird, near the entrance of the park. 2 wing bars, rusty crown, white eye ring. It was a Field Sparrow, not Am Tree. Got a good look at the bill before it ducked off. Pink and uniform. 

To be sure, I went out again this morning, and after 3 hours of looking through white-throated sparrow flocks, I came up empty. My apologies for the miss-ID.
