I birded for an hour or so in the afternoon both days this weekend at Sandy Point State Park.

Highlights include:
Wood Duck 9
Gadwall 4 (yesterday, only 3 today)
Northern Pintail 1 F
Lesser Scaup 1 M
Common Goldeneye 12 (including the injured drake at the marina)
RED-THROATED LOON 1 (today only)
Horned Grebe 1 (today only)
GREAT CORMORANT 19 (Likely more. All on or around Baltimore Light. An awesome count!)
American Coot 1
Bonaparte's Gull 57
Brown Creeper 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2 (yesterday)
Winter Wren 2 (yesterday)
Hermit Thrush 3
Brown Thrasher 1 (yesterday)
PINE WARBLER 9 (yesterday, 2 today)
Yellow-rumped Warbler 5
Song Sparrow (everywhere, in large numbers)
RUSTY BLACKBIRD (4 yesterday)

Back at home in our yard, a Hermit Thrush kept company with at least one Fox Sparrow today. Yesterday three Fox Sparrows were out feeding on the ground together. The Great-horned Owl and Red-shouldered Hawks have been vocal lately, as has the Osprey who arrived earlier this week.

Good birding,
