Our Fish Crows are back and built their nest last week in the usual pine tree in our garden. It is amazing how quiet crows are when nesting!

You are probably correct. There may a lot of early nesting this year. 

As for Brown-headed Nuthatches the database shows nest-building records 
for February 5, 1961 in Talbot County, March 7, 2002 in St. Mary's County, 
and March 30, 1975 in Queen Anne's County.
