   The previuous early arrival record of Spotted Sandpiper in Anne Arundel
County was April 9, 1951 and 2000; the earliest for Prince George's April
8, 1983. The only earlier reports for the state are March 10, 2005 in
Montgomery, Feb. 28, 1998 in Montgomery, and February 11-12, 2007 in
Washington County. There are six reports for January, three on CBCs. It is
difficult to draw the line between birds attempting to winter and true
spring migrants but anything in March should be a spring migrant.
