Morning all,
Foggy and misty here this morning, so I did a short walk around the yard. Before I went out I had a small mixed flock of Common Grackles, Red-winged Blackbirds, and assorted cowbirds/starlings feeding in the grass. All 3 "blackbirds" seem to be on the increase. Lots of Chipping Sparrows and juncos, cardinals and robins, etc. but the most interesting bird was a female American Kestrel, which until just moments ago was perched up high in a tree in my neighbors yard, pretty close. This is the first one I can remember that was perched, not a flyover, so pretty neat. Must have something to do with the fog.
