Hi all,

I just had a Sora calling (@ 5 PM) from the NE corner of the marsh impoundment at Swan Harbor in a patch of tall phrags. I heard the bird call once, then it responded three times in a row to playback. The previously reported King Rail was calling from directly in front of the blind, so loudly that I could hear it from the entrance road. I was hoping for Virginia Rail too, but no luck there. There were three Blue-winged Teal in the muddy (west) side of the new impoundment. Two calling Osprey were circling over the woods at the front end of the entrance road. Lots of crows (both versions) and Ring-billed Gulls picking in the newly-cultivated fields. Not much else of note.
