Hi all,
As Tyler posted (thanks Tyler!), there was an adult BLACK-HEADED GULL
associating with the LAUGHING and BONAPARTE'S GULLs at Point Lookout. The
bird started off on the Potomac side and flew to the sandbar where it
preened for a while, it then flew out over the Bay and foraged, because of
the sun, we lost it for a bit. For anyone looking for the gull, it was the
only non-Laughing Gull we saw with a full black hood. A few other
interesting birds around Point Lookout included a NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED
SWALLOW, impressive numbers of NORTHERN GANNETs and RED-THROATED LOONs, the
continuing two SORAs in the phrag pond, and two YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERs.
Another great day to be out! Full lists can be accessed at the links below
