John went to Pickering Creek this morning and heard the likely chip-notes of the Virginia's Warbler at least three times between 7:30 and 8:30 but had no further contact up until noon. The bird stayed low close to the entrance road, and once was near the prairie interpretive sign, but never showed itself except for a flight to a tree where it disappeared. There was also an astounding raft of 32,000 Ruddy Ducks at Cabin Creek in Queen Anne's Co. and Gannets there and at Horsehead.
