Birded Lily Pons Water Gardens and a few other spots in Frederick county
this morning. Highlights were a singing Marsh Wren at Lily Pons (thin
reeds behind the gazebo) and three Bonaparte's Gulls in a plowed field
on the north side of Oland Road (near Lily Pons). A Marsh Wren has been
reported from Lily Pons each of the first three months of 2012, so I'm
guessing this is one bird that has chosen to winter there.

Also went to Baker Park in Frederick to check out the Black-crowned
Night-Herons reported from there. Found eight adults on the west end of
the pond with nests. Hope they have success maintaining a rookery
despite all the human foot traffic.

Good birding!
