Hi --

We had a Marsh Wren at Lilypons (sector 6 of the Sugar Loaf CBC) this year so one could well have overwintered. It was missed on the Winter Count but that was not surprising.

Any sign of the Common Teal?

Birded Lily Pons Water Gardens and a few other spots in Frederick county
this morning. Highlights were a singing Marsh Wren at Lily Pons (thin
reeds behind the gazebo) and three Bonaparte's Gulls in a plowed field
on the north side of Oland Road (near Lily Pons). A Marsh Wren has been
reported from Lily Pons each of the first three months of 2012, so I'm
guessing this is one bird that has chosen to winter there.
