I flushed an American Bittern today out of some wetlands that are bordered on the north by Frederick Road, on the east by the Little Patuxent River, and on the west by the Font Hill neighborhood (Jay Drive).  Also in the same area were wood ducks, mallards, Canada geese, song sparrows, swamp sparrows, red-tailed hawks, red-winged blackbirds, bluebirds, chickadees, titmice, and beavers who have built up a pretty nice dam.
