I also birded in Worcester today, looking for new species for my cumulative March list in Worcester; almost all time in the Pocomoke Forest area. Had one life month bird, Black-and-white Warbler, 6 of them. Mike Walsh had one last week, but still a good date. Other warbers were Yellow-throated (30, actual count), Pine (36), Cm Yellowthroat (1) and Louisiana Waterthrush (5). Also 1 Myrtle in the OC area. Missed the NOPA at Blades-record date for WC. Also 13 gnatcatchers.

Oddest thing was running into Jim B and Jared S at the Wawa in Easton (no House Sparrows) around 5 am, and Jared S along Mt Olive Church Rd in the dark at 625. Small world!!

Hi All,

I'm going to be brief, but wanted to share some highlights (mostly just
FOYs) from today. Started at dawn along Mt Olive Church Rd, no problem
getting my FOY YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS and BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS. They
are all over, in fact. I had multiples at most places today. A brief turn
down Sturges rd, yielded nice looks at a singing LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH.
Back on mt olive church, I drove slowly with the windows down and soon
heard a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER. I pulled over and managed a few looks at
him, stunning. After a few more stops, I went down to Taylor's
Landing/Vaughn North where I ran into Jim Brighton and Jared Satchell. At
vaughn we had several FOY COMMON YELLOWTHROAT. I parted ways with those
guys and then went to Truitt's Landing. Best here was a calling KING RAIL
and 36 DOWITCHERS. The dowitchers were quite distant. Most appeared to be
short-billed, but actually had a few on the far east side I thought while
in the field fit better with long-billed. I have a bit of digiscoped video
to go through, but they might have to stay unID'd. On Assateague, I had
VIRGINIA RAILS and a TRICOLORED HERON from the Life of the Forest trail.
While at Bayside Development ponds, I had a large group (30) of white
egrets GREAT/SNOWY fly over. Also a group of 33 GLOSSY IBIS picked up and
put back down at Eagles Nest Golf Course. At Ocean City Inlet, winds were
howling. Quite a few red-throated loons closeby. Nice to see was a ROYAL
TERN sitting on the beach. On the way back, I stopped by Hurlock Wastewater
treatment ponds. Peeking over the dike I was happy to find 42 BONAPARTE'S
GULLS sitting on the water, some as close as 40ft. Plenty of Tree Swallows
(300+), Ring-necked, Ruddy, wigeon, Northern Shoveler (19) and 6
BLUE-WINGED TEAL were also nice. Great day in all.
