Raptor Observations:
Accipiters and kestrels were the highlights of the day; a courting Osprey
was impressive for his aerobatics and persistence. The Merlin and harrier
were both adult males.

Non-raptor Observations:
First Chimney Swift and Sora(calling)of the season.  377 Tree Swallows were
counted with many more likely missed.  8 Northern Rough-winged Swallows and
2 Barn Swallows; 6 breeding-plumaged Common Loons in the river; 12
Bonaparte's Gulls; Great Egret

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays.
